STRESS REDUCTION MASSAGE
Relaxation massage is a gentle Swedish massage that uses smooth, gliding strokes to help you relax. The massage therapist will move at a slower pace and use lighter pressure. In a relaxation massage, there is less emphasis on working out chronic underlying muscle tension -- the adhesions or "knots" and muscle restrictions in the muscle tissue. That's because deep tissue work can be uncomfortable, and during a relaxation massage you just want to drift away and feel good.
In a relaxation massage, the therapist won't push your limits in order to get the muscle to release. You might even fall asleep! It's a good choice for someone who is getting a massage for the first time, or someone who just wants to bring their stress level down.
Relaxation massage is also good for someone who get massage as a special treat once a year. It's not realistic to expect that you can get rid of all your knots in one massage. But to drift into a deeply relaxed state in fifty minutes -- that's doable!
The Health Benefits of Relaxation Massage
There are substantial health benefits to a relaxation massage. Gentle massage stimulates sensory nerve endings in the skin, which transmit messages through the nervous system and cause the brain to release endorphins. These are the body's natural painkillers, feel-good chemicals that create a sense of well-being.
Massage further aids relaxation by stimulating the body's parasympathetic nervous system, sometimes called the "rest and digest system." Blood pressure decreases, heart rate slows, and digestive activity increases.
Relaxation massage also increase blood circulation and stimulates the body's lymphatic system, which carries away waste products.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
A Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
A session includes hands on and off, using the "life force energy" which is unseen.
Your clothing is left on as the Reiki practitioner moves their hands from different positions over your body. Some people feel heat coming from the practitioners hands, others may see images, colours or patterns, where others feel lighter, calmer and more peaceful.
WHAT IS REIKI?
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.

In a fast paced world, we often find sitting quietly in meditation extremely challenging - Kirtan offers a beautiful alternative. It brings about stillness of mind, while taking out the struggle some people find to concentrate. It is a way to focus the mind by repeating mantra or words, which has the effect of releasing the mind.
By doing it in a group, the combined energies create a buzz, a feeling of connection and amplifies the achieved personal outcome.
An uplifting, moving and electric connection to self and community, a session of Kirtan effects everyone differently, from a state of deep meditation, an energizing and uplifting or a hypnotic trance, one thing is for sure, you will be left wanting more!.
WHAT IS KIRTAN?
Mantras are words, phrases and syllables that are repeated until they come integrated into the chanter' consciousness, Many people find that is helps them access inner peace, calm and connection.
Kirtans are normally Sanskrit, the ancient Indian language.
You do not need to have any previous knowledge of the sanskrit language to feel the strong vibrations in the body and the beautiful effects on the mind and spirit.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Kirtan is sung in a group - the chant leader calls/ sings words and phrases, which the group repeats back. The singing will be accompanied by a harmonium, a freestanding keyboard. Everyone is encouraged to join in - it does not matter if you can sing or not :)
Each song can last between 5 - 30 minutes. In between each performance there maybe a period of silence as you are left to observe in mindful silence, and let the effects of the chant settle in.
There are no rules as to how to act during a Kirtan, it is an extremely freeing experience as you feel the energy in the room, letting yourself do want feels right - want to move, to dance, to laugh, to cry - let yourself go where you want and need to.
After a Kirtan people describe a feeling of bliss or "buzzing".
